FAQs for Individuals

Practical answers about career decisions, Your Next Move and 1:1 coaching with Ellen Hooper in Melbourne and online. Explore the differences between programs, support and current offers.

Getting Started

How do I know if I need a new job or a different direction in my career?

Start by separating what is wrong with your current role from what is wrong with the kind of work you do. If the problem is your manager, scope, pay or flexibility, a different role or a better conversation at work might be enough. If the work itself no longer fits your strengths, priorities or life, explore a broader change before sending out applications. Your Next Move helps you work through both possibilities and turn the answer into a realistic plan; 1:1 career coaching is available if you want dedicated support.

How do I know which program is right for me?

Start with the outcome you need. Mini-courses tackle a specific challenge; Your Next Move Self-Paced offers the complete career-clarity framework without coaching; and Your Next Move Live adds direct support, group coaching and accountability. For individual attention, consider 1:1 career coaching. Current prices and offers are on the linked pages. Not sure? Book a free 15-minute call.

Can I start with one program and upgrade later?

Yes, you can begin with Self-Paced and consider the live program later if you want coaching and accountability. Before buying an additional program, contact ellen@ellenhooper.com to check which options and any upgrade credit are currently available.

What if I'm not sure I'm ready to invest?

That's exactly why we offer free resources! Head to the In the Media page to get some great resources and advice.

Do you offer a free trial?

We don't offer free trials of paid programs, but we do have a range of resources in the In the Media section. This gives you a real sense of Ellen's approach and expertise before you invest. Or you can book a free 15-minute call to chat with Ellen directly if you're considering Your Next Move Live or 1:1 coaching.

Program Details

What exactly is included in the Self-Paced program?

The Self-Paced program covers eight stages: strengths and ambitions, priorities, timeline, ideal work-life, negotiating with others, planning your next move, sustainable action and integration. You get practical activities and six months’ access. It is entirely self-directed: no live calls, community, direct feedback or coaching from Ellen.

What's the difference between Self-Paced and Live Group programs?

Both versions cover the eight-part career-clarity framework. Self-Paced gives you six months to work through it independently, with no live calls, community or feedback from Ellen. Your Next Move Live adds eight weekly group sessions, personal coaching, a peer community and accountability. See the linked pages for current prices, terms and availability.

How long do the mini-courses take to complete?

Mini-courses vary in length depending on the topic, but they're designed for busy lives. All of Ellen's videos are between 1 and 5 minutes so there's no wading through hours of fluff. Get in, get what you need and get on with your day.

What topics are covered in the mini-courses?

The mini-courses focus on practical job-searching and flexible-work challenges, including CVs, interviews, negotiation and workplace boundaries. See the current catalogue for topics, availability and prices.

Pricing & Payment

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. Payment plans are available for Your Next Move Live. In special circumstances, email ellen@ellenhooper.com to discuss an individualised plan. See the program page for current pricing and terms.

Is there a money-back guarantee?

Your Next Move Live has a no-questions-asked money-back guarantee, as described on its sales page. Check the terms for the specific program you are considering; do not assume the same guarantee applies to every product.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through our Kajabi platform. Payment is processed securely at checkout.

Are there any hidden fees?

No hidden fees. The price you see is the price you pay. For the Live Group Program, payment plans may have slightly different terms, but we'll be completely transparent about that before you commit.

Do you offer group discounts?

Yes! If you're enrolling a team or group from your organisation, we offer special pricing. Contact us to discuss corporate packages and team rates.

Learning Experience

Are the courses self-paced or live?

We offer both! Mini-courses and the Self-Paced program are self-paced — you can work through them on your own schedule. The Live Group Program includes 8 weeks of live group sessions with Ellen weekly, plus self-paced modules between sessions.

How long does it take to see results?

It depends on the decision you are working through and what you do with it. You can start clarifying your priorities and testing options while you work through the exercises; a job change or new way of working may take longer. The live program adds coaching and accountability, while the self-paced course asks you to set your own rhythm. We do not promise a fixed timeline or a particular career or financial outcome.

How long can I access the materials for?

Your Next Move Self-Paced includes six months of access, and Your Next Move Live also provides six months' access to its materials. Access terms for other products may differ; check the relevant sales page before you enrol.

What if I miss a live session?

All live sessions are recorded and available to replay. You can watch at your own pace and still participate fully in the program. We understand life happens! Ellen hasn't ever had a participant join all 8 live sessions. You can get the replay via private podcast so you can listen on the go, or you can watch the video replay.

Is there a community or support group?

Your Next Move Live includes a peer community where participants can share experiences and questions. The self-paced course does not include community access or direct support. Check the live program page for the current inclusions.

Which Program Is Right for Me?

What's the difference between Your Next Move and Corporate Escapees Club?

Your Next Move is for mid-career professionals deciding what they want from their working life. Choose the self-directed or live coached version based on how much support you want. Corporate Escapees Club is ongoing business mentorship for former corporate professionals who have already started a service business. The distinction is whether you are designing your next career move or growing the business you have begun; check each page for current membership and program prices.

Is Equal Parents only for parents?

Equal Parents is specifically designed for co-parents who want to share the responsibilities of home and work more equitably. If that is not your situation, Your Next Move may be more relevant for career decisions, or Corporate Escapees Club for an established service business.

What is Wayfinder and who is it for?

Wayfinder is Ellen's corporate program for organisations navigating major change. It's designed for executives, HR leaders, and teams managing organisational transformation, restructures, or culture shifts. It's typically a custom engagement starting at $10,000.

Can I do Your Next Move if I'm self-employed?

Your Next Move is primarily for employed professionals deciding what comes next. If you have already started a service business after corporate, Corporate Escapees Club is designed for that stage. If you are weighing both paths, book a free 15-minute call to work out the best fit.
